Blundell's 2mb Sports Management appoints Braben PR agency

16 October 2009

Blundell's 2mb Sports Management appoints Braben PR agency Former F1 star and well-known TV pundit Mark Blundell has appointed specialist media and sports PR agency Braben to provide strategic corporate and talent PR services for his company, 2mb Sports Management.

The agreement comes at an exciting time for the boutique talent management agency. Founded in 2005 by Blundell in conjunction with close friend and fellow ex-grand prix ace and team-mate Martin Brundle, 2mb Sports Management has successfully managed the careers of a number of high-profile drivers.

Its current stable includes McLaren test driver and DTM front-runner Gary Paffett, IndyCar Series newcomer and GP2 race-winner Mike Conway and Brawn GP Young Development Driver Will Stevens. In January, Blundell assumed sole ownership of 2mb Sports Management.

“The appointment of Braben was a very considered and very crucial step for 2mb Sports Management,” explained Blundell. “I have ambitious plans for the development of the business over the next few years, and I’m convinced that Braben’s unique mix of media and sports experience will help me to achieve these objectives.”

“Mark Blundell is a very recognised and respected force in the field of media and sport,” added Braben CEO Sarah Locke, “and we are thrilled to have been selected by him to support the future growth and development of 2mb Sports Management.”

Blundell – who competed for Brabham, Ligier, Tyrrell and McLaren during the course of his career at the highest level from 1991 to 1995 – draws upon his experiences as an elite athlete, media pundit and talent manager to provide bespoke full-service agency and management services. The 43-year-old is committed to both identifying and developing young sports talent and to helping established sports stars define and manage their brands.

2mb will soon announce expansion plans designed to parallel the motorsport business, with further news expected over the coming weeks.
